Jimmy Page spoke about Bonham's death

Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page has spoken about the affect that the death of drummer John Bonham had on the band.

Bonham, who was the group’s original drummer, was found dead in September 1980. An inquest ruled that his death was accidental and was as a result of asphyxiation from vomit.

"After John Bonham's death I spent fifteen years not even wanting to think about Led Zeppelin,” Page said.

"But I also have difficulty thinking it's all over. Now at least one concert is planned and I'm incredibly happy about that."

Led Zeppelin’s remaining members decided to officially disband two months after Bonham’s death because, according to a statement, they “could not continue as we were.”

The band’s much anticipated re-union concert, which will see Bonham’s son, Jason, take his place on drums, is now just a week away.

The concert at the O2 Arena on December 3rd saw over a million people apply for just 20,000 tickets.
